TWO people are in a London hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Rochester last night.

A 20-year-old man from Maidstone suffered life-threatening injuries and an 18-year-old Gillingham woman suffered serious leg injuries in the crash, which happened on City Way around 9.30pm.

Police were called to the scene following reports of a collision involving a green Kawasaki motorcycle with a pillion and a silver Audi A4.

The motorcycle was reportedly travelling along City Way towards Star Hill when it was involved in a crash with the car.

The man and woman, the bike's rider and pillion respectively, were taken to a London hospital.

The car driver, a 65-year-old man from Rochester, received minor injuries and did not go to hospital.

Kent Police are appealing to witnesses to the crash to come forward.

They ask anyone with information to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538, quoting reference 30-1862.
