Very disappointed actually.....

.....this restaurant certainly looked the picture, the surroundings were great, the menu selection was excellent and the prices very reasonable however, when we received our food is was disappointing. The starters were pretty tastless, the side salad looked like it had been made quite some time before (and left out) and the calzone which arrived very puffy and impressive looking, deflated to nothing when a knife was stuck into it...further investigation showed it had been all air as there was infact, barely anything inside in terms of filling!! We came the weekend of the Castle Concerts and got the distinct impression someone was taking advantage.

    Don Vincenzo

Don Vincenzo is a local Italian restaurant and pizzeria in Rochester that offers exquisite cuisine at affordable prices. This is a popular eatery for the people of Medway and deservedly so, with their quick and efficient service and relaxing atmosphere. Definitely worth dining for a meal, be it with a friend or with a larger group.

    Lovely food and atmosphere

I always enjoy eating at Don Vincenzos, I think they are very reasonably priced and always have a relaxed atmosphere, never hurried and give the same exceptional service whether it is lunch for two or dinner for a large party.

  • The Best Italian!

Don Vincenzo is the place I always go to if I'm in Rochester around lunch-time (you usually need to book for the evening, by the way). I have specialised in true Italian cuisine for more than thirty years, and this place is in the select group of the best places I have found around the south-east, from Brighton to Eastcote, Croydon to Westminster..

Nino and his team know how to do the job, and to look after their customers really well.

The menu is reasonably varied, but do look for the daily specials on the right side of the menu. This is one of the few places I know to do Osso Buco from time to time, so it is worth looking out for. The daily specials are often very good value indeed, and some are available as either starter or main course.

They also have Saltimbocca Alla Romana on the main menu. Their rosemary potatoes are delicious!

Their starters are excellent (and generous!) especially the aubergine dish on a cold winter day.

The wine list is typical for such places, but everything on the list is very good, including the best Pinot Grigio I have yet found: they have two, and it's the more expensive of them, Santa Margherita (though it's not too expensive).

I don't go in for fancy or frothy coffee, so an ordinary filter coffee with fresh cream is a delightful way to end one's meal: and these are proper size cups as well, not those tiny ones you get in some places!

You can sit outside or indoors, and the world of Rochester passes you by, as it's located almost opposite the Blue Boar Lane car park, so is also convenient for parking.

Overall, this is the best Italian I know around Rochester, without taking anything away from the others. Highly recommended!

    Very nice Italian

Don Vincenzo really know how to do delicious, good quality Italian food. They don't muck about - the food is simple and arrives quickly, but tastes fresh and is well presented. Great if you're a lover of all things Italian.

    Excellent Service and food

This is the best Italian in the High street as far as I'm concerned. I had a choice when in town recently and we went for Pizza Express thinking it would be less expensive - how I regret that decision, it took ages and was far too dear for what we got. I will always go to Don Vincenzo in future, always!
