An air of expectation pervaded the Cambria room of the Rochester Independent College on Friday night, as Bill Lewis' first book of poetry since 2003 was unleashed upon a specially invited audience.

The inaugural publication of Greenheart Press, an imprint of Wow Magazine, 'In The House of Ladders' contains poetry of a very personal nature to Bill; touching and funny, and all with his irreverent sense of being in poems such as 'Flags' and 'Noughts and Crosses'.

Emma Dewhurst, the editor of Wow magazine, told how, since meeting Bill at a Writers' Rendezvous some time ago, their shared passion led to the creation of Greenheart Press and Emma's first foray into the exciting world of book publication. Emma is also Creative Producer for the Rochester Literature Festival and will be collating a list of anyone interested in finding out more about this. Contact Emma via: [email protected]

Both Emma and Bill read from the book, with Bill also sharing anecdotes from a life long fascination with the cultures he's encountered on his many travels.

There will be several readings in other venues, giving you the opportunity to secure an autographed copy of the book. However, if unable to buy the book directly from Emma or Bill, it is available on the following online outlets: Amazon; Foyles; The Book Depository; Barnes & Noble and more.
