ROCHESTER is not short of restaurants and bars to take your loved one to on Valentine's Day.

Here's a brief guide to give you some inspiration on where to spend a romantic evening in Rochester.

Want somewhere to eat?

Take a look at our restaurant guide to view the town's huge variety of places to eat including Chinese, Italian and Indian restaurants.

Want somewhere to drink and dance?

Rochester residents will know the area's great selection of pubs and bars - ideal for a casual low-key drink with your partner. See a full list here.

The Ship pub is holding a Valentine's Day special from 6.30pm, with music from Sister Sax and a Robbie Williams tribute act.

And Rochester is not short of nightlife - especially on a Thursday night.

Fancy a trip to the cinema or the theatre?

Cineworld in Medway Valley Leisure Park is showing a special Valentines Day screening of Baz Luhrmann's hit 2001 epic film Moulin Rouge. Showtimes are 5.20pm and 8.15pm.

If you're busy on Valentine's night, you could always take your loved one to see Amy Winehouse tribute act Laura Jane Butler perform at Dickens World on Saturday 16 February. More details about that can be found here.

Also on the weekend after Valentine's Day, the cinema is also screening the romantic musical show that is Andrea Bocelli: Love in Portofino. Catch it on Sunday 17 February at 4pm.

Experience an indoor circus, dancing, burlesque, music and much more at the Cabaret of Curiosities at Chatham's Brook Theatre on Friday 15 February. Tickets for the show (which is not suitable for under 16s) are £11 and can be bought here.

Flowers and chocolates

Want to give flowers? There are more than a few florists in Medway that will be of help.

O2 customers can now get a free box of Thorntons chocolate in Chatham's Pentagon Centre.

All you need to do is download O2 priority moments from the app store, head into the O2 shop in Chatham and pick up your free box of chocolates.
