This is a great place for a few weekend beers away from all the casino carnage. Its packed on a friday night and you generally have to get in quick & book ahead for sunday lunch! Lovely cheeseboards and garden for drinks in summer. What i like best is its a really friendly place and attracts a nice crowd anywhere between the ages of 22 & 60.

This is a strange but lovable place tucked away in a scruffy part of Rochester. It's like an old 19th Century pub turned cafe, although the rich red carpet and dark wood maintain the pub feel. There are three hand pumps and they do Cobra beer. The food is nice, but the best thing about this place is the people and the atmosphere. It houses all sorts of locals, from young groups to middle aged couples and they all seem to be enjoying the ambience. The staff are absolutely delightful and service always comes with a smile. Check it out.
