Scamnesty Results: Beware the scammers!

The scamnesty bins located in visitor centre and which collected your junk mail, highlighted many cases of vulnerable people appearing on a 'suckers' list and being fleeced for hundreds of pounds by different criminal gangs who sell the lists to each other.

If unsure about any requests for donations, always check with the Charity Commission but be aware, it's not just "good causes" that are after your money - they might tell you you've won a competition or some money on a lottery - the first thing you need to think is: Did I actually enter this or buy a ticket? And if your answer is no, then bin it immediately - you cannot win what you haven't entered!

And of course, if you do think you or a vulnerable relative has been targeted, contact the police.
