Simon Cooper, owner of the Grain Battery Tower on the Isle of Grain, has put the historic tower on the market - but hasn’t disclosed the asking price!

For Sale: Grain Battery Tower, spacious des res, some TLC required. Not overlooked.
Built in 1855 to defend the River Medway, the cylindrical tower, complete with gun platform, has most recently been used by fisherman, but was previously a restaurant after becoming disused when the second world war finished.
The tower is in need of refurbishment, but for someone willing to splash the cash, a very different living experience is on offer – just accessing the tower has risks, although it’s claimed you can out-walk the tide!
However, Simon would prefer the tower to remain a venue that can be enjoyed by the general population and has turned down offers that wanted to make it exclusive. If you think you’ve the necessary cash (possibly around the £500k mark) and commitment for a large scale project, contact Simon via email simon@graintowerbattery.co.uk
