That’s right – £60,000 to be exact, towards an inspiring project that will involve local people working together to tackle a problem or issue in the community. But you’ll have to be quick, entry deadine is tomorrow!

The Big Lottery Fund and ITV, with the approval of Buckingham Palace, are looking to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee next year, by making it possible for a community to improve both people’s lives and/or local places in their area. And they have a staggering £3.6 million to give towards it!

If you know what you want to do and funding is the issue, ITV regional news will be featuring two worthy projects from each region for three nights, with phones lines open for the public to choose the recipient of the £60,000 funds.

You’ll need to be creative and exciting to inspire the local population to get behind you, and also capture the public imagination in order for them to vote for you.

When you’ve entered your project, use every means of social media at your disposal to gain momentum – I recommend Twitter, and here, at Rochester People - and let’s work together to ensure we bring those funds home to make a difference in Rochester!
