Every September, on the national Heritage Open Days, many local buildings of historic interest open their doors free of charge to the public. As your local Church of England Churches, we are taking this opportunity to open our buildings (St Margaret's has for many years already done this) and to offer some special events. There’s something for everybody.

In Borstal there will be a fun and interactive ‘turf-turning opening ceremony’ for the new Community Peace Garden at St Matthew’s Church, Borstal, at 7pm on Friday evening, and a talk on the history of Borstal and the local artist Donald Maxwell, at 3pm on the Saturday afternoon.

For stunning views over the Esplanade and river, climb the church tower at St Margaret’s, Rochester, plus there are lots of other things to see and explore on Saturday 9am - 5pm or Sunday from 12noon to 5pm. On Saturday evening why not return for a Concert by the Kent Police Male Choir at 7.30pm?

There are some fantastic free events to celebrate 55 years of St Justus Church, from a fish and chips lunch (1pm) and a hand and foot massage (2-4pm) on the Friday, to a cream tea (3pm) and family film night (7pm) on the Saturday.

Plus on the Sunday morning, the service at St Justus launches our new Life Groups looking at the connections between the Christian faith and contemporary issues such as ecology, film and the arts (10am). The 6.30pm evening service will introduce an accredited local Listening Service, which is on offer to anywho need it.

In short, we are celebrating history, celebrating community and celebrating the vital role of the Christian faith today. Do come and see what we have been up to in the community for many years, connecting with the stories of your local community yesterday and today, and tomorrow.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever (The Bible)
