The WRVS centre in Chatham has been open for a year now, providing a fantastic service for older people.

Not only does the centre provide access to volunteer helpers, doing everything from the shopping to a spot of gardening for elderly people, the warm and welcoming space runs numerous activities, such as helping people to understand their mobile phone and a creative writing group. Exhibitions are planned and there are also rooms for hire at extremely reasonable costs for community groups, charities and businesses.

Staff at the centre, including the lovely Anne (who makes a mean hot chocolate!) are on hand to advise and share information, with the cafe a smart and friendly addition to the high street. Visit them next time you're in town; you can find them at the junction with Manor Road, just along from Argos.
