Officers arrested a 17-year-old after Wycombe goalkeeper Jordan Archer was knocked to the ground by a Gillingam fan while attempting to take a goal kick.
The fan was promptly led away by a steward in the 93rd minute of the League Two clash - which Wycombe won 1-0.
A Kent Police spokesman said: "A 17 year old from Rochester has today been charged with common assault and Section 4 of the Football Offences Act.
"He has been bailed to appear on 12 March at Medway Magistrates' Court."
Following the clash Gills boss Martin Allen said: "As a football club we can't condone (what happened). None of us are happy with that."
