Historic property, Restoration House, has been shortlisted in the 'Hidden Gems' section of the inaugural Hudson's Heritage Awards.

The 16/17th century mansion house is so called because Charles 2nd stayed there the night before the restoration. It was also the inspiration for Satis House, Miss Havisham's home in Dickens' Great Expectations.

The Hidden Gems category of the awards drew more nominations that any other, with Restoration House competing against 18 others. See full details on the Museum and Heritage website.
