Rochester Airport, alongside other Kent airfields, Manston and Lydd, will be used temporarily during the 2012 Olympics to help out the London airports.

A maximum number of flights will be allowed for under new temporary rules governing air space, with travellers being able to fly into Rochester and then pick up the High Speed link from Medway into Stratford, thereby easing the likely congestion in London.

Hopefully, Rochester and Medway will benefit from visitors stopping over in town for a day or two, either side of their Olympic trip, for sightseeing - we've all the heritage and activities they need right here!
