A NEW MEANING TO FILLING UP THE CAR IN ROCHESTER

Generous employees from Robins & Day Rochester are hoping to fill a Peugeot 208 with Christmas presents for a local children's hospice – and they're looking for donations from across the community.
Rochester dealership appeals for presents to fill a car
This will be the fourth time the Dealership team has filled a car with presents for Demelza, a children's hospice based in Sittingbourne, and they want Christmas 2013 to be bigger and better than ever before.
The hospice cares for children from birth up to the age of 19, so the Dealership team is looking for a wide variety of presents from generous locals.
Rochester residents are being asked to bring their donated present wrapped and labelled, stating whether it's for a boy or girl, plus the suitable age range, to the Dealership reception – they can even load the present into the car themselves.
The Dealership team will then deliver the presents to the hospice on Monday 23rd December, just in time for the big day.
James O'Neill, general manager at Robins & Day Rochester, said: "This is the fourth time we've done this for Demelza and we're really hoping this year will be the best yet. We've had a brilliant response from the local community each time and we know they'll support us once again – they can help us make a child's Christmas even more special.
"We have plenty of cars here so it makes sense to fill one with lots of goodies and we can't wait to see the look on the children's faces when we do the delivery on the 23rd."
Terrie Kennor, Demelza's head of community fundraising, said: "I'd like to thank the staff and customers at the Dealership for supporting Demelza over the festive period. Their generosity means we can make Christmas even more special for the families who rely on our care and assistance."
