MEDWAY rail commuters faced huge delays this morning after a train caught fire at Victoria station.

Trains were not able to enter the station after 7am, when the fire broke out on a Gatwick Express service.

Some Southeastern services were delayed by up to 50 minutes.

However an update on the rail firm's website said: "Train services running through this station are returning to normal but some services may still be delayed by up to 10 mins or revised at short notice. Disruption is expected until 11:00."

Victoria station was evacuated while the blaze was dealt with.

Southern trains tweeted: "No-one was hurt, which was good."
