Medway Mile To Kick Start Modern Pentathlon Euro Champs

This year's Medway Mile will take place at Rochester Castle Gardens from 5.30pm on Wednesday 27th July, marking exactly one year to the start of the London Olympics.

There will be free sports, crafts and entertainments from 5.30pm, with the children's (Under 13s) race at 6.20pm, the elite/adults race at 7.10pm and the main event for everyone else beginning at 7.30pm. Entry is free and there's a free tee-shirt to be had too!

The event also incorporates the opening ceremony of the 2011 European Modern Pentathlon Championships, to be held at Medway Park from Thursday 28th to Monday, 1st August. The ceremony starts at 8.45pm and will be followed by a fireworks finale at 9pm. Tickets for this are available from the Medway Council's box offices on 01634 338338, the Central Theatre and the Visitor Information Centre or at the Euro Pentathlon website.
