Local actors and actresses who worked as a background artistes on the movie version of Les Miserables had a taste of the life of an A-Lister last night.

The Rochester Film Society held a special screening of the film at the Chatham Dockyard Odeon and invited the 'extras' along as special guests. Joining them was the young star of the film, Isabelle Allen, who played the Young Cossette. The Odeon laid on a red carpet for the actors to walk along, and film society Chairman Nick Walker, gave them an on-stage introduction before the film.

The event was filmed by the BBC, who also interviewed two of the 'extras', Karol Steele and Ian Floodgate on the Red Carpet alongside Isabelle for South East Today by Chrissie Reidy.

After the showing a special question-and-answer session led by Nick, was held, where audience members asked questions about the making of the film last year in Chatham's Historic Dockyard, during which some of the behind-the-scenes secrets were revealed.

The Rochester Film Society hold special film screenings, followed by a discussion group every Thursday.  For more information find them on Facebook.
