Krystals Night Club suffered a power cut on New Year's Eve.
The reason for the loss of power is as yet unknown, with the Krystal's management posting this apology on their Facebook page:
"We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused by an unknown power failure in Krystals in the early hours of New Years Day - having worked so hard to bring our customers the best New Years Eve possible and have over 1000 of you come to the club to celebrate we were just devastated - this has never happened before and we had a team of electricians on the case within minutes. Unfortunately it wasn't a straight-forward problem but we had power back on as soon as we could and stayed open til 4am. We are investigating what caused this but it seems a possibility our power had been tampered with :-( "
While some people were angry that their £15 ticket only saw them through to 1.30am when the power went, most of the clubbers praised the club for a great night up until that point. Facebooker Kelly Baker said: "I was there last night, all I can say is THANKYOU!!! Was the best new years I've ever had!! I'm sure that 99% of the people that were there will forgive you for the power cut, because all the effort you put in to the night far outweighed the inconvenience that a bitter saboteur caused.... No refunds are needed!!! Everyone got more than their money's worth!!! Krystals rocked last night, huge pat on the back for all involved in putting the night together xxxx happy new year!!! X"
Others confirmed they were perfectly happy and would not be requesting a refund, since they'd been able to see in the New Year at midnight, the most important part of their night out.
The management have confirmed that vouchers for the bar, dropped from balloons on the night, can be used any time throughtout January. Investigations are continuing and Krystal's will advise the outcome in due course.
