EIGHT gritting lorries were out in Medway throughout the weekend to treat the areas' roads as the cold snap continues.

The trucks continued to treat more than 335 miles of primary and secondary routes from 4am this morning.

And council contractors have been salting town centre pavements from 7am.

Medway Council's portfolio holder for front line services Cllr Phil Filmer said: "Our teams have been working hard throughout the weekend to salt all primary and secondary routes across the area and minimise any potential disruption to residents.  They will continue to do this while the cold snap continues.

"As always, our advice to motorists is to take care on the roads, and should there be severe weather conditions, to consider whether their journey is really necessary."

All priority 1 and 2 car parks are being treated this morning. A list of these car parks can be found here.
