AWARD-winning poet Philip Kane is to host a workshop for wannabe writers in Medway.

The Chatham-based author will lead the 'What If?' workshop in Strood next month.

He will provide writers with advice and guidance into the art of creating alternative histories and parallel worlds, using resources from the Medway Archives and Local Studies Centre.

The workshop is due to be held on Saturday 9 February from noon to 3pm at the Medway Archives and Local Studies Centres in the Clock Tower Building, on the council's former Civic Centre site in Strood.

Workshops cost £5 and places are limited so booking is essential. Attendees are asked to bring their own writing equipment.

To book a place, call 01634 332714.
